Could you describe your academic and professional journey?
I started my journey early, at 16, working with my father on the farm, which naturally led me to pursue a BTS in Socio-Cultural Animation and sparked my interest in community development. Later, I balanced working at a travel agency for seven years while studying to become a sports teacher, moving between Fraga and Lleida in Spain. After earning my teaching diploma, I completed a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. During this time, I also worked as a hostess and in event management.
Alongside my degree, I prepared for and successfully passed the teaching competition on my first attempt. Simultaneously, I was selected for a temporary position teaching Spanish in Réunion Island. I couldn’t refuse this opportunity and postponed my trainee year to take it. Upon returning from this enriching experience, I became a full-time teacher at a school in Barcelona, located in Park Güell—a historic monument, which was a stroke of luck.
Eager to continue learning, I pursued an Erasmus Mundus Master’s in “Media Engineering for Education,” studying across Poitiers, Madrid, Lisbon, Brazil, and Montpellier. After my master’s, honoring a promise to my grandfather, I began a PhD in Information and Communication Sciences as well as Education Sciences between the University of Barcelona and Toulouse. During my doctoral years, I returned to teaching in Barcelona until I defended my thesis in December 2018.
Then, faced with personal challenges, I attended Learning Technologies 2019 to reconsider my career path, where I serendipitously met Gerardo Marcotti [the founder of Daylindo].
Shortly after, I decided to leave teaching and join Daylindo—initially part-time and then full-time in 2020.
How would you describe the company in a few words?
Daylindo is dynamic, full of energy, and always evolving. It’s a start-up where innovation never stops. We’re constantly brainstorming new ideas to grow and adapt to the market. In the beginning, we were a small team tackling every challenge, but now we’re a diverse group united by the same vision. At Daylindo, adaptability is key, and we’re always in sync with the world around us.
What is your role at Daylindo?
My journey at Daylindo has been one of growth. I started as an instructional designer, quickly taking on diverse responsibilities and working closely with our clients. Transitioning to a role focused on client success felt natural, allowing me to deeply engage with client experiences.
Now, as the Director of Instructional Design, I oversee projects to ensure our products, design, and communication align with client needs. A significant part of my role involves structuring skill-development programs tailored to workplace contexts, enabling clients to implement them effectively.
Additionally, I founded Daylindo’s training entity to provide clients with the tools to become AFEST (Workplace Learning Adaptation) trainers and facilitators. This multifaceted role ensures our solutions are cohesive and continually improving.
What are the main professional challenges you currently face?
Every day at work brings new challenges. We collaborate with clients across various sectors—from telecoms to bakeries to personal services—so understanding the specific context of each is vital. The primary challenge is accurately addressing client expectations, which requires active listening and the flexibility to adapt quickly.
Each situation is unique, presenting opportunities to strengthen client relationships and improve our services. Moreover, as many clients transition into AFEST trainers, creating a tool to share and mutualize skills efficiently is critical. This tool, with its integrated methodology, is essential for transferring knowledge without wasting time.
Could you share your favorite activities or hobbies during your free time?
Outside of work, I have several passions that help me recharge. Dance—whether flamenco, salsa, or bachata—allows me to disconnect and express myself differently. Aquabike, swimming, and sports in general are my go-to stress relievers. I also enjoy reading daily as a mental escape.
Cooking is another creative outlet where I experiment with flavors, and chess is my mental workout, keeping me sharp. Traveling has also been a significant part of my personal and professional life, taking me to Canada, New York, Utah, India, Brazil, Réunion Island, Mauritius, Morocco, and across Europe. As the saying goes, travel shapes youth.
Together, these activities help me maintain a healthy balance between my professional responsibilities and personal interests!
